Common questions
Do I need to provide my own servers?
Yes. sshship connects to VPS servers you already own or rent (Hetzner €3/mo, DigitalOcean, Vultr, Contabo, etc.) via SSH. We are the deployment tool — not the hosting provider.
What is the Free plan actually limited to?
1 server, 3 projects, 50 deployments per month. Enough to deploy a personal project or run a demo. Core features like Git deploys, SSL, and NGINX are fully included.
How does local / purchasing-power pricing work?
At checkout, pricing is automatically adjusted based on your billing address — not your IP address. This means using a VPN has no effect on what you actually pay: the price is always tied to where your payment method is registered. We accept cards, Paystack, Flutterwave, and mobile money, so no international card is required.
I am using a VPN. Will I see the wrong price?
Possibly — the price preview on this page uses your IP to make an educated guess, but the final price at checkout is always determined by your billing address and payment method. So even if this page shows a USD price, you will see your local price when you actually check out.
Is sshship hosted?
Yes. We run the app and execution layer. You add your own VPS over SSH — we never replace your hosting provider.
What happens when I exceed the Free plan limits?
You will be notified and given the option to upgrade. We do not delete your data or cut off in-progress deployments.
What happens if I cancel?
You drop to the Free plan limits immediately. Your data is kept for 30 days on the paid tier before being reduced to Free plan constraints.
