Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-04-08
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of sshship (the “Service”), operated by sshship (“we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
sshship is a control plane that helps you deploy and manage applications on servers you control. The Service can connect to your VPS/servers over SSH using credentials you provide and execute deployment steps (for example: pulling source code, building, and restarting services) on your infrastructure.
2. Your responsibilities
- Server ownership and authorization: You must own or have permission to administer any server you connect to sshship.
- Security: You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and your servers (SSH keys, firewalling, OS patching, least privilege).
- Commands: You control the commands and configuration executed on your servers. You are responsible for reviewing them and ensuring they are safe and lawful.
3. Credentials and access
You may store SSH private keys and other secrets in sshship so the Service can connect to your servers. We encrypt stored secrets at rest within the application, but no system is perfectly secure. You agree to use unique, least-privilege keys where possible and rotate credentials if you suspect compromise.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Deploy or operate malware, botnets, unauthorized scanners, or abusive automation.
- Access systems or data you do not have permission to access.
- Violate applicable laws or third-party rights.
- Attempt to bypass authentication, rate limits, or security controls.
5. Logs, metrics, and diagnostics
The Service may collect and display deployment logs and server metrics that are generated by running commands on your servers. These outputs may include information about your infrastructure and applications. You are responsible for ensuring you do not intentionally include secrets in logs. We may retain operational logs for debugging, security, and support.
6. Billing and paid plans (if enabled)
If you purchase a paid plan, billing may be processed by a third-party payment processor (for example, Stripe). Pricing, taxes, renewals, and cancellation terms are shown at checkout and/or in your workspace settings.
7. Service availability
We strive to keep sshship available, but the Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Deployments may fail due to factors outside our control, including your server configuration, network connectivity, third-party providers, or upstream outages.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, or to protect the Service, users, or third parties.
9. Disclaimers
We do not guarantee that deployments will be successful or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. You assume all risks associated with changes made to your servers using the Service.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, sshship will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill arising from or related to your use of the Service.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Cameroon (Northwest Region), without regard to conflict of laws principles.
